About Tapestry Grid
Tapestry Grid is a focused, free workspace for turning an image into a practical tapestry crochet chart—not a general crochet pattern platform.
What it does
The pattern maker resizes an image to a stitch grid, reduces it to 2–12 colors, labels every cell, and counts stitches by color. You can repaint cells, adjust palette swatches, undo changes, estimate yarn from your own swatch rate, and export a PNG or printable chart.
Why it stays local
Image decoding, color reduction, editing, and export happen in your browser. Tapestry Grid does not need an account, a cloud library, or access to the image after you close the page.
Where judgment still matters
A chart is a planning aid. Yarn color, gauge, carrying technique, tension, and image rights remain the maker's responsibility. Read the disclaimer before relying on an estimate for a large project.
